Pedro Persio Beca
Humboldt postdoctoral fellowship
I am a seagrass researcher, exploring various aspects such as spatial modeling, ecosystem services, restoration, and the development of molecular indicators based on fatty acids to assess stress levels in these primary producers. My collaboration with Sara Varela dates back to 2015, and I have been with Maplabs since 2022. Through my Humboldt postdoctoral fellowship in collaboration with Mapslab, we’ve investigated the impact of climate change and invasive species on the native marine plant community in the Caribbean Sea.
