Sara Gamboa

Postdoc Researcher

Passionate about palaeontology, insects and evolution since I was a child, my first real contact with research was as an undergraduate in several paleontological and entomological fieldwork campaigns. I went on to complete a PhD in the University Complutense de Madrid in 2021. My work has focused on the evolutionary ecology and biogeography of insects, mainly swallowtail butterflies. I have also collaborated in research on beetles, ants, and several groups of vertebrates, and I have a long record of paleontological fieldwork in Spain.

Currently, my project aims to study broadscale (in time and space) evolutionary patterns linked to past climate changes using a multidisciplinary approach, combining traditional ecology and palaeontology methodologies.
